Newborn Baby Found Dead Outside Church in Notting Hill, Police Urge Mother to Come Forward

A heart-wrenching discovery was made in Notting Hill, west London, on Tuesday, March 25, when the body of a newborn baby was found in a bag outside a church.

Metropolitan Police have launched an urgent appeal for the mother to come forward “for her own welfare” as they continue their investigation.

Police and ambulance services were called to the scene on Talbot Road, near Powis Gardens, at 12:46 pm, but despite their efforts, the baby was sadly declared dead at the scene.

At this stage, the gender and exact age of the child have not been determined. Authorities have described the incident as “extremely sad and shocking.”

Superintendent Owen Renowden, speaking on behalf of the police, emphasized that the immediate priority is to locate the baby’s mother, who is believed to have given birth very recently.

Renowden made an emotional plea: “If you are the baby’s mother and are reading this, please come forward to police or medical professionals.

You must feel very frightened, but please let us help – we are really worried about you, and it is vitally important you get medical assistance and support.”

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward, and they have reassured the mother that there is help available.

“You can walk into any hospital or a police station,” Renowden added, hoping to alleviate any fear the mother may have in reaching out.

The investigation is in its early stages, and officers are doing everything they can to support the search and provide assistance to the mother.

The case has left the local community in shock as authorities work to uncover the details of this devastating event.
