Nollywood Makeup Artist In Jnr Pope’s Boat Accident Buried

The late 24-year-old makeup artist from Nollywood, Abigail Fredrick, was buried on Monday in her hometown of Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. She tragically lost her life in the boat tragedy on the River Niger that claimed the life of actor Junior Pope.

When their boat sank last Wednesday, five members of the film team, including Abigail, perished.

Following early rumours that she had been buried by the riverbank, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno made sure her body was returned to the state for a dignified burial.

As per the reports, the governor ordered her body to be exhumed on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

In her honour, there was also a candlelit parade.

Various dignitaries attended the funeral service, which was led by the Church of Christ, Ikot Udoma. “Today, the late Abigail Frederick, the Nollywood makeup artist who tragically lost her life in the ill-fated boat mishap, has been laid to rest at the family compound in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area,” wrote Facebook user Ubong David, who uploaded photographs from the funeral.

Dailypost Nigeria reports that dignitaries including Nollywood actress Eve Esin, Commissioner for Tourism Charles Udoh, SA on Entertainment Moses Eskor, Godfada Uko, and other Nollywood community members, friends, and sympathisers attended the funeral. Akaniyene Tommey, the chairman of the Eket Transition Committee, was also present.
