Peter Anthony Morgan, who was the lead singer of the popular and Grammy Award-winning reggae band, Morgan Heritage, died on Sunday, February 25th, 2024, at the age of 46.

The family announced the death of the reggae icon via social media, leaving friends and fans all in total shock after the post was made on Facebook.

In their post, the family thanked for the love and support from the fans and loved ones in advance, asked that they continue to remember them in their prayers as they continue to go through the process, as well as asking for privacy.

As of the time of this publication, no actual cause of death has been revealed, as the family did not give insights in their social media posts as to what could have caused his death.

“It is out of sincere love that we share that our beloved husband, father, son and brother and lead singer of Morgan Heritage Peter Anthony Morgan has ascended today February 25th, 2024. Jah come and save us from ourselves because love is the only way,” the family wrote in the post.

“Our family thanks you in advance for your overwhelming love and support, and we ask for your continued prayers as we go through this process. We ask that you please respect our privacy during this time of healing. Thank you!”

“Peetah” Morgan was a son of renowned Jamaican reggae singer Denroy Morgan. Peetah and his siblings formed the band in 1994. Peetah Morgan served as one of the lead vocalists of Morgan Heritage, contributing his soulful voice to the band’s harmonies and melodies.
