A rare Flamin’ Hot Cheeto resembling the popular Pokémon Charizard has fetched an astonishing $87,840 at auction, proving once again the value of novelty collectibles.

The snack was sold through Goldin, a well-known auction house specializing in rare memorabilia. According to the official listing, the uniquely shaped Cheeto was “affixed to a customized Pokémon card and encapsulated in a clear card storage box.”

The Cheeto, dubbed “Cheetozard,” was originally discovered and preserved between 2018 and 2022 by 1st & Goal Collectibles. It gained widespread attention on social media in late 2024, further increasing its desirability among collectors.

The auction attracted significant interest, with 60 bids placed before the final hammer fell. The winning bid came in at $72,000, with an additional buyer’s premium bringing the total to $87,840.
