Toronto was buzzing on Saturday, November 2, as rapper Drake and NBA star DeMar DeRozan clashed at a Raptors game against the Sacramento Kings.
The night began with excitement, featuring a ceremony to retire Vince Carter’s jersey. But tensions quickly escalated between Drake and DeRozan.
When asked if DeRozan should have his jersey retired, Drake didn’t hold back. He stated, “If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll go up there and pull it down myself.”
His comment shocked fans and set the tone for the evening.

Throughout the game, Drake was reportedly seen glaring at DeRozan. Eyewitnesses claimed he mouthed an expletive in the player’s direction. After the game, DeRozan addressed Drake’s remarks during a press conference.
“He gon’ have a long way to climb to take it down. Tell him good luck,” DeRozan replied, showing he’s not backing down.

This feud seems to stem from DeRozan’s appearance in Kendrick Lamar’s recent music video, “Not Like Us.”
In the song, Lamar mentions DeRozan, saying, “I’m glad DeRoz’ came home, y’all didn’t deserve him neither.”
Many fans interpreted this as a dig at Drake, who has long been associated with the Raptors.
Despite the ongoing tension, DeRozan has tried to keep things civil. He expressed that he respects Drake and isn’t looking to escalate the feud.
