Reasons why Messi has no intention to extend his contract at PSG

Regarding the matter of whether Lionel Messi will extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, reports from Barcelona and France contradict with one another.

Up until this point, it had been assumed that Messi would remain at PSG after his contract expired this year.

However, popular journalist and streamer Gerard Romero from Barcelona said something different in this regard.

“Leo Messi’s renewal with PSG is not so certain, and it doesn’t seem he will renew,” Romero said.

Leo Messi’s objective is not to extend his contract with PSG, he said, adding that things “may change in the future.”

The triumph in the FIFA World Cup was used as the justification for the change in strategy because Messi’s priorities had altered moving forward.

However, the report was immediately refuted by Arthur Perrot, a Paris-based employee of RMC Sport. Two red X emojis were his straightforward response to the narrative.

Reasons why Messi has no intention to extend his contract at PSG

It appears that not all is happy in the French capital, though. Messi wants to leave PSG for three specific reasons, according to Sergio A. Gonzalez.

Relationship with Galtier

In contrast to Mauricio Pochettino, PSG coach Christopher Galtier has done a fantastic job of including all three of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe in the starting XI.

Additionally, he never stops praising Leo, yet the information in the report implies that he does not get along well with Galtier.

Moving away might be the best option for Messi because the coach is probably going to continue on after his current contract ends.

Relationship with the fans and the media

Lionel Messi and Neymar received loud boos from PSG supporters during the league-leading team’s match against Bordeaux last season, when they were going through a particularly trying time under Mauricio Pochettino.

On the other side, Kylian Mbappe received well-deserved cheers and applause.

But for any player, this would be sufficient to ruin their relationship with the fans.

Leo has also received bad treatment from the French media. He received criticism for his poor play last year, and this year, he and Argentina are the targets of criticism after their victory against France in the World Cup final.

Mbappe’s control over the team

World Cup winner, Kylian Mbappe who ultimately extended his contract with PSG after their record-breaking renewal offer, got a lot of player power at the team.

The other players have taken issue with reports that the World Cup winner has the authority to influence moves, both in and out.

Messi wants to leave the team in order to avoid having to face off against Mbappe again in the future.

FC Barcelona would be one of the most obvious options if Messi decided not to stay at PSG. It’s the team he expected to play for his entire career, after all. He does not currently have the finest connection with the club’s management, though.

Long-running rumors said he might sign with Inter Miami, and more recently, they claimed he might receive a sizable salary that would be sent to Saudi Arabia.

However, given the current situation, it is anticipated that he will stay in the top 5 leagues longer before moving to another continent.
