Ghana’s First-Lady, Rebecca Akufo Addo bows to pressure coming from Ghanaians and decides to Rejects Salary Payment and also refund all the allowances paid to her Since January 2017.

This was made known by an official press statement released yesterday, Monday, July 12, 2021, from the office of the first lady of the Republic of Ghana.

According to the statement that was signed by Korkor Bleboo, the director of Communication from the office of the first-lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo has decided to refund all allowances she was paid since January 2017, when the President came into office.

As it stands, the sum of money she will refund for the given period amounts to GH¢899,097.84.

This action from the first-lady comes following the negative comments by Ghanaians over the approved presidential Spouse Allowances and Salaries by Parliament.
