Ronald Araujo dismisses Barcelona exit rumors

Ronald Araujo, the centre back for Barcelona, has denied rumours that he would leave this summer and stated he is still happy there.

Although Araujo is still a vital member of Barcelona’s team, there have been rumours that he would be sold this summer in order to raise a sizable quantity of money. Teams like Manchester United and Bayern Munich are expected to make offers for the Uruguayan international.

Araujo, however, has taken action to put the rumours to rest and has emphasised how happy he is with his life in Barcelona.

He told La Quinta Tribuna, “I’m happy at Barcelona, but there has been a lot of talk about this.

“Besides, we have to finish the season well because there are still challenges ahead, including the Copa America with Uruguay.”

The fact that Araujo’s current deal is set to expire in 2026 and Barcelona is unlikely to be able to match the kind of money he would be offered elsewhere is adding fuel to the flames of a possible departure.

Club president Joan Laporta recently acknowledged there had been some roadblocks in negotiations with Araujo’s representatives, but she asserted that all the concerns had now been resolved. Laporta had previously indicated he would try to sign the center-back to a lifetime contract.

Laporta told Mundo Deportivo, “Araujo is very complete.” “It does occasionally happen that communication does travel where it needs to. I’m talking about bargaining.

“And there, I think this has been solved already because there was some distortion when it came to communicating everything we had in mind for Ronald.
