Saka has returned to Arsenal for “continued rehabilitation” ahead of their match against title challenger Manchester City on March 31, per an FA statement.

On Saturday, England plays Brazil at Wembley, then on March 26, they host Belgium at the national stadium.

The withdrawal of Saka is a blow to England manager Gareth Southgate.

Following this international break, England’s next two games are against Bosnia-Herzegovina on June 3 and Iceland on June 7. After that, they play Serbia on June 16 in their opening Euro 2024 fixture.

No more replacements are anticipated, according to an FA statement, as the 25-man England team continues to train for matches against Brazil and Belgium.

Saka has been playing well for his team this season. With ten games remaining, Arsenal leads the Premier League and will play Bayern Munich in a two-leg Champions League quarterfinal.

This season, he has netted 16 goals for the Gunners, 13 of which have come in the Premier League.

Since earning his debut in 2020 as a 19-year-old, Saka has established himself as a valuable member of Southgate’s team.

Saka won the title of England men’s player of the year in September 2023 for the second consecutive year.

In 32 games for his nation, he has scored 11 goals, including a hat-trick against North Macedonia in June 2023 during a Euro 2024 qualifying match.
