This track is part of Gomez’s upcoming collaborative album with her fiancé, Benny Blanco, titled “I Said I Love You First,” set to be released on March 21, 2025.
With Gomez and Abrams expressing a wish to be there for someone following a breakup, the song digs into concepts of longing and emotional support. At a listening event in London, Gomez explained that although the song’s title implies a message to an ex, it is actually about a closest friend in her life.
The song was released with an accompanying music video, filmed in a selfie-style format, features Gomez and Abrams singing together in a bedroom setting, capturing an intimate and candid atmosphere. Benny Blanco makes a brief appearance at the end of the video.
