In a captivating saga that commenced in February, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani has presented his fifth and final ultimatum to acquire Manchester United, leaving the decision in the hands of the Glazer family and the overseeing Raine Group.

Engaged in a fierce battle with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the Qatari banker has embarked on a daring endeavor to claim ownership of the prestigious Premier League club.

Reports from the esteemed Daily Mail reveal that Sheikh Jassim’s offer comes with an imminent deadline, marking the culmination of negotiations by the week’s end. Until Friday, he remains willing to engage in discussions, but once the clock strikes, his bid will stand without further deliberation.

Nevertheless, despite the improved nature of this latest offer, it falls short of the Glazers’ valuation of the Red Devils, estimated at a staggering £6 billion.

Sheikh Jassim’s bid entails assuming complete control over the revered Old Trafford establishment, contrasting with Ratcliffe’s proposal, which aims to secure a commanding 69 percent stake.

Additionally, the Qatari bid reportedly includes substantial financial provisions earmarked for player recruitment and bolstering the club’s infrastructure. This strategic move seems to stem from a pressing desire to strengthen Erik ten Hag’s squad during the upcoming pivotal summer transfer window.

Initially, Ratcliffe, the INEOS chief, appeared to be leading the race to claim the throne of the illustrious 13-time Premier League champions.

The Glazers had expressed a preference for the possibility of retaining a minority stake under Ratcliffe’s stewardship. However, the emergence of a fresh offer from Qatar introduces a captivating twist to this enthralling narrative, leaving the future of Manchester United shrouded in uncertainty.

Asked about the potential takeover and summer improvements, United boss Ten Hag said: “I think in this moment I don’t want to discuss that.

“It’s about finalising the season. We have to be quiet, analyse the season, go into the depth, then set the right conclusions and then take action.”
