Dolly Parton Responds to Lil Nas X’s ‘Jolene.
Dolly Rebecca Parton (born January 19, 1946) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actress, author, businesswoman, humanitarian.

Parton’s song “Jolene” was a huge hit in 1973 and is still considered a classic today. Dolly Parton expressed her displeasure with Lil Nas X’s decision to record a cover on Twitter.

After achieving success as a songwriter for others, Parton made her album debut in 1967 with Hello, I’m Dolly, which led to success during the remainder of the 1960s. Parton, 75, said on Twitter, “When I found out that Lil Nas X had covered my song “Jolene,” I was ecstatic. I had to track it down and listen to it right away… It’s also very, very good. Of course, I adore him nonetheless. I was taken aback, and I feel honored and flattered. I’m hoping for the best for both of us. Thank you so much, @lilnasx.”He said.

Miley Cyrus, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, and the famous Elton John all had cameo appearances on Lil Nas X’s debut album Montero, which was released on September 17th. With “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” and “Industry Baby,” which features Jack Harlow, the album has already charted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The album has received positive feedback and is presently ranked second on the Billboard album chart.
