    Veteran Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor, Sound Sultan is dead according to confirmed reports gathered by, he died of cancer.

    The news of his death was confirmed by his brother Dr. Kayode Fasasi.

    According to Kayode Fasasi, the hip-hop artiste passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the age of 44 after a battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.

    According to his brother, Dr. Kayode Fasasi who confirmed the news in a statement on behalf of the Fasasi family, Sound Sultan passed on Sunday, July 11, 2021.

    “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Multi-talented veteran singer, rapper, songwriter, Onlanrewaju Fasasi a.k.a Sound Sultan.

    “He passed away at the age of 44 following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma.

    “He is survived by his wife, 3 children, and his siblings. We, his family appreciate the utmost privacy as we come to grips with this tragic loss.”


    Sound Sultan born with his legal name as Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi, he was regarded as one of the pacesetters of modern hip hop music in Nigeria.

    Sound Sultan married his long-term girlfriend Chichi Morah, now known as Farida Fasasi from the Igbo ethnic group in 2009.

    The veteran Nigerian musical artiste is however survived with three children.
