Tory Lanez has been found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion: The Canadian singer, who had pled not guilty to all three counts, could spend 22 years in prison. Meanwhile, according to KABC, sentencing is set for January 27 at 8:30 a.m. local time.

Megan Thee Stallion’s attorney Alex Spiro in a statement told ABC news after the verdict was announced on Friday that “The jury got it right. I am thankful there is justice for Meg.”

Well, once the verdict got revealed hell nearly broke loose as Lanez’s father went all loud in the court chamber shouting and claiming the prosecutors are “witches” and “evil,”.

“You two are evil, wicked,” Lanez’s father yelled at prosecutors as the jury left the court room, while Lanez’s defense attorneys tried to deescalate the situation according to ABC News.

Lanez’s defense attorney George Mgdesyan after the verdict said “We’re very disappointed, shocked and didn’t expect it,” he added that “We didn’t think the people could prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Lawyer Mgdesyan said again that this case is not over as they will do everything they can as he plans on appealing the result.

Lanez was later taken into custody after the verdict was announced

In a statement, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón praised Megan Thee Stallion, whose legal name is Megan Pete, for her “bravery,” referring to some of the case’s discussion.

“You showed incredible courage and vulnerability with your testimony despite repeated and grotesque attacks that you did not deserve,” he wrote. “You faced unjust and despicable scrutiny that no woman should ever face and you have been an inspiration to others across LA County and the nation.”

Tory Lanez’s trial began in December after he pled not guilty. In his opening statement, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Alexander Bott said that the rapper and singer shot Megan Thee Stallion and that Kelsey Harris, her former friend and assistant, observed the murder from the beginning to the end.

Bott provided evidence of his guilt in the form of an apologetic text message and a voicemail from Lanez. George G. Mgdesyan, Lanez’s defense counsel, contended that the conflict was solely between Harris and Megan.

According to Rolling Stone, Harris entered the stand on December 14 and prosecutors aired excerpts of a recorded interview she gave in September.

Harris stated in the interview that Lanez threatened to shoot her inside a vehicle before reportedly opening fire on Megan.

During her court appearance, Harris stated that she did not want to be there and described the proceedings as a “trigger situation.” Though she admitted to giving the taped testimony in September, she claimed that the details were “not accurate” and that she was “not truthful” that day in order to protect herself.
