Erik ten Hag is already looking at replacements for Cristiano Ronaldo but has called emergency Man Utd board to discuss the Portuguese future before deciding after the news of his exit broke out.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been told by Manchester United that he must be on pre-season tour despite his desire to play in the Champions League after spending the last 19 years playing in Europe’s top club competition.

The Portuguese feels the Europa League is beneath him and he now want to leave the Premier League club after failing to qualify for Champions league.

The Red devils last weekend initially declined to comment on reports that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has asked to leave if a satisfactory offer is lodged by a club that is in the Champions League next season.

According to Manchester Evening News on Saturday revealed that United have no intention of selling the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and expect him to stay at the club till the end of his contract.

However, reports claims that Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, discussed the possibility of a move to United’s Premier League rivals Chelsea with new owner Todd Boehly.

Napoli, AS Roma, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have all been made aware of Ronaldo’s plan to leave Manchester United.

The Portuguese superstar who was granted extra time off following his international commitments with Portugal has been asked to resume training this week.

Ronaldo is a giant, because of what he’s already shown and I think he’s still very ambitious. Of course I would like to keep him. He’s been very important to Manchester United this year and can produce great statistics.” Erik ten Hag told De Telegraaf about the prospect of working with the Portuguese.

The Red devils are adamant Ronaldo will be going nowhere this summer, New United boss has promised to help Ronaldo fulfil one of the promises he made when he completed his return to Manchester following his £12.8 million move.

It’s a new chapter, I’m so happy and glad, and I want to carry on again, to make history, to try to help Manchester United achieve great results, to win trophies and number one of them is to win great things.”

Erik ten Hag will demand his new employers to splash the cash on Antony if Ronaldo is still ruthlessly engineering his exit after meeting him.

The departure of Ronaldo would be greeted with fury by the fans but the solution would be to sign Antony, the Sao Paulo-born livewire.

United felt they had been priced out of a move to bring in the 22-year-old when Ajax slapped a £70million valuation on his head after Ten Hag quit the Amsterdam club to take over in Manchester.

The former Ajax boss is keen on bringing in a new forward after agreeing to leave Ajax for United and has urged the board to do everything possible to get him the Brazilian before they begin their tour.

It is understood that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is engineering an exit not because of the Champions league spot but unhappy with the clubs failure to strenghten their squad after seeing the top five clubs bringing in marque singnings.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will love to win silverwares and is not ready to go through same fate as last season.
