Whether you’re a vocalist, instrumentalist, or composer, this prize might help you develop your musical and leadership talents at UEA.

The UEA Music Centre Award is an annual prize that is open to both incoming and current students who demonstrate exceptional musical skill and a strong desire to contribute to the university’s musical life.

Award Benefits

Each scholarship is worth £800 each year and is meant to help applicants expand their musical abilities and resources. This money boost can be used for instrumental or vocal classes, music-related purchases, or other activities that promote your musical development.

Furthermore, award recipients have the option to re-audition in following years, perhaps renewing the grant if they continue to make substantial contributions to the musical life at UEA.

Who Can Apply for the UEA Music Centre Award?

The UEA Music Centre Award is open to students across a wide range of disciplines and courses, including:

  • Undergraduate programs
  • Postgraduate Taught and Research programs
  • MBA and PGCE courses
  • Year Abroad programs

Whether you’re studying Arts, Science, Medicine, Business, or any other discipline at UEA, you are eligible to apply. However, students who currently hold a UEA Music Scholarship are not eligible for the Music Centre Award.

Application Process

The application process for the UEA Music Centre Award involves three key steps:

1. Application Submission

Interested students must submit their applications online. Detailed information and the application form can be found on the UEA Music Centre Award page. Ensure that your application showcases your musical background, achievements, and how you plan to contribute to UEA’s musical community.

2. Interview

If your application is shortlisted, you will be invited to a short interview with the Director of Music. This is your chance to discuss your musical ambitions, how you plan to contribute to UEA’s musical life, and to ask any questions you may have about the university’s music community. Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, 16 October, and Thursday, 17 October 2024.

3. Audition

The final stage of the application process is a ten-minute audition, where you’ll perform three contrasting pieces that showcase your talent. Auditions are scheduled for Wednesday, 23 October, and Thursday, 24 October 2024.
