Manchester United has turned down West Ham’s offers for Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, following the combined bid they made for the two players.

The pair from the Red Devils have been strongly rumored to be potential transfers to the east London team this summer.

Maguire, who made only eight Premier League starts in the previous season, was stripped of the club captaincy in July, with Bruno Fernandes taking over the role.

The central defensive partnership of choice has shifted to Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, while even Luke Shaw, primarily a left-back, has been deployed ahead of Maguire in that position.

He and McTominay might both be looking at a potential departure this summer, as West Ham is contemplating a dual acquisition.

An initial £20 million bid for Maguire was rejected earlier in the transfer period, but West Ham is contemplating the possibility of increasing their offer for him.

McTominay is valued at £40 million, as the Scottish international has lost his status as a regular starter at Old Trafford.

West Ham then submitted a joint proposal of £60 million for both players, however, Manchester United has turned down the approach for McTominay.

In the event that an agreement is reached, Maguire’s departure from Manchester United would come after his participation in 175 matches across various competitions.

McTominay, on the other hand, would bid farewell to the club after a tenure spanning over twenty years, during which he progressed from the academy to the first-team.

Despite finishing 14th in the Premier League and clinching the Europa Conference League title last season, West Ham has yet to secure any senior signings this summer.

However, reports from talkSPORT indicate that they have reached a £34 million agreement with Ajax for Edson Alvarez, a player who was previously linked with Chelsea during the previous summer.

Alvarez could potentially become the first new addition to the club’s roster, filling the void left by Declan Rice’s transfer to Arsenal for a staggering £105 million.

Additionally, West Ham has set their sights on Gunners striker Folarin Balogun as they gear up for the upcoming season, with a match against Bournemouth scheduled for Saturday afternoon.Manchester United has turned down West Ham’s offers for Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, following the combined bid they made for the two players.
