Nana Ama McBrown has disclosed the factors that influenced her decision to settle down after the age of thirty-five (35), following controversy surrounding her marriage.
The media personality turned actress stated that she hoped to have enough life experience and maturity to go through marriage and avoid becoming like some “examples.” It was something she grew up seeing.
McBrown claimed that during her upbringing, she witnessed the divorce of roughly 80% of the married women, from which she learned lessons.

I had many family friends who got married young but divorced at age thirty, so I had planned to get married after 35 years. When I was growing up, 80 percent of the people who got married got divorced.
Some people separate from their partners and go on to have two or three children. During an Instagram live, she said, “If you asked the women what happened, you’d realize that they had wished they were not married.

She mentioned other factors, including reaching financial independence and choosing the appropriate career path.
Before getting married, I’ve always wanted to have a career, have a monthly income, and have my life in order. You will thus constantly find yourself crying if you are a woman whose needs are met by men after marriage.
In addition, I had my first home and a successful career after 35 years. I don’t think I will be crying and regretting mistakes I make at the age of 35 either,” she continued.
Additionally, McBrown stated that marriage is not a means to an end and that seeking God is what matters most.
We cannot take marriage to heaven, despite the fact that it is a beautiful institution and the God-ordained means of procreation. God commanded us to seek His kingdom first. Therefore, before getting married, we need to work on our salvation,” she said.
