Barcelona’s head coach Xavi Hernadez has bemoaned the fact that his team consistently draws difficult European opponents.

It’s possible that Xavi’s team could not have been drawn against a more difficult opponent than Manchester United, who the Blaugrana will play in the Europa League knockout phase playoff.

The most recent meeting between the Catalans and the Red Devils was in the quarterfinals of the 2018–19 Champions League. Barcelona then triumphed 3-0 at Camp Nou and prevailed 1-0 at Old Trafford.
