To determine who joins the competition group winners, the eight runners-up from the Europa League group stage will play the eight third-place teams from the Champions League group stage.

This implies that the Gunners might potentially play Barcelona, Juventus, Ajax, or Sevilla in upcoming matches; the round of 16 draw will take place on February 24.

In contrast to Arsenal, Premier League rivals Manchester United will need to advance through the play-off round after failing to overtake Real Sociedad of Spain as the group’s top team.
