In Nyon this morning, the UEFA Champions League’s round of 16 draw for current season was done.

The eight group winners were matched up against the eight group runners-up since the draw at this point of the competition was divided into two groups of seeded and unseeded teams.

Clubs from the same nation and those who played one another in the group stage, however, were kept apart.

Townflex Sports takes a look at the English side’s and their counterparts after the draw.

Manchester City, who advanced to the semifinals last year, will need to defeat RB Leipzig of Germany. Before inviting the Bundesliga team to the Etihad Stadium for the return match, City will travel to Germany for the first leg.

Chelsea, who was also seeded, will face Borussia Dortmund, another German team. Tottenham Hotspur, who emerged victorious from their group in thrilling fashion on the penultimate day of the group stage, now need to defeat AC Milan in order to advance to the quarterfinals.

In the meanwhile, Liverpool will face off against current Champions League holders Real Madrid in a matchup that seems to be a repeat of last season’s final at Paris.

Since the Merseysiders were drawn on the unseeded side of the draw, the first leg will be played at Anfield.

Inter Milan will play FC Porto, while French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich will face off in another mouthwatering match.
