2 Dead In Winneba-Apam Road Accident

At Gomoa Simbrofo, a Mercedes Sprinter bus with the registration number GT 5873-09 went off the road and crashed into a tree, causing tragedy to occur along the Winneba-Apam route. 

Two persons are thought to have perished in the sad collision, which left 23 injured. Witnesses reported that the Mercedes Sprinter passenger van suddenly burst its rear tyres when it was travelling from Accra to Takoradi. 

This caused the van to flip over and then crash into an adjacent tree. Officers of the Ghana National Fire Service at Apam and the Ambulance Service responded quickly, saving lives and evacuating 23 patients to a hospital.

 The remaining 17 victims including the mate of the van—were brought to St. Luke’s Hospital in Apam, while the six injured were transported to the Winneba Trauma Hospital.
