The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of candidates who sat for the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

In an update on their official website yesterday, December 16, 2020, stated that the council will dispatch the results to the schools through the Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors of Education.

The results have also been hosted online which means that candidates can also check out their results from home by visiting the Council’s website – www.waecgh.org.

The 2020 BECE saw a total of 531,707 candidates sitting down to write the examination, in breaking it down into gender, it is made up of 269,408 males and 262,299 females, from a total of 17,436 schools throughout the country and was administered at 2,012 centres.

2020 Bece Provisional Results Released: Out of the total number of candidate, a total of 1.59% were absent, and could not write their papers. The Subject Results of 417 candidates got cancelled after they were found with foreign materials in the examination hall and engaging in collusion, while the Entire Results of 44 candidates were cancelled for bringing mobile phones into the hall.

Withholding of the Subject Results of 977 candidates pending the conclusion of investigations into various cases of alleged examination malpractice. The withheld results of candidates may be cancelled or released based on the outcome of investigations.
