Latest Entertainment News, Nigeria, (Townflex) – Afro Nation has revealed that the highly anticipated Nigeria edition scheduled for December will no longer be taking place.

Afro Nation Music Festival is a popular music festival that celebrates African and Afro-Caribbean music genres, including Afrobeats, dancehall, reggae, hip-hop, and more. The festival is known for its vibrant and diverse lineup of artists from around the world, with a strong focus on African and Caribbean performers.

The event which is an annual three-day music festival produced by Live Nation, Event Horizon, Smade Entertainment, and Memories of Tomorrow, was set to hold its first edition in Nigeria on December 19-20 in Lagos.

Afro Nation Nigeria 2023 cancelled: The cancellation of the show was made known to the public by the organizers via a press statement released on Tuesday, October 31.

The statement outlined their reasons for the cancellation, stating that they uphold extremely high standards for their events. They recognized that it was currently not feasible to produce a show of the quality that Nigeria deserves in December 2023.

The organizers highlighted their role in the Afrobeats community, providing a platform for artists to connect with fans and create events that have a positive impact on global culture.

Afro Nation has previously held successful shows in various locations, including Portugal, Ghana, Puerto Rico, Miami, and Detroit. However, Nigeria holds a special place in their hearts, and they expressed their sadness at not being able to celebrate with the Nigerian audience this year.

The statement assured fans that they are fully committed to organizing an Afro Nation show in Lagos that everyone can take pride in. They also announced that they will be refunding all tickets, including booking fees, and ticket buyers will receive information via email regarding the refund process.

The statement reads, “Unfortunately, the Afro Nation Nigeria festival in Lagos will now not be taking place. As event organisers, we hold ourselves to extremely high standards, and it has become clear to us that it is currently not possible to deliver a show that is of the quality that Nigeria deserves in December 2023.

“We are honoured to play our part in the Afrobeats community. providing a platform for artists to connect with fans and to create events that have a positive impact on the culture globally, as well as launching the Afrobeats chart in the US and the UK. We have put on incredible shows in Portugal, Ghana, Puerto Rico, Miami, and Detroit, but Nigeria holds a special place in our hearts, so we are heartbroken not to be able to celebrate with you this year.

“Please know, we are 108% committed to creating an Afro Nation show in Lagos that we can all be proud of. We know that you are as disappointed as we are and to all those who have purchased tickets, we love you and thank you for supporting us on this journey.

“We will refund all tickets including booking fees. Ticket buyers do not need to do anything but will receive an email with information outlining the refund process. We will see you again soon.”
