Renowned investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has shared some of his experiences as an undercover journalist due to the challenges he faces in his line of work.
In a YouTube video, Anas claimed that the risks he encounters on a daily basis have made it impossible for him to lead an average life.
He said that due to the risks he confronts, he hides his identity under his well-known beaded mask and that all attempts to have him take off the mask, including a recent legal lawsuit, have failed.

“You demand schemes to murder me and everyone they know on a regular basis. They come to me every day. In addition, a few solicitors appeared in court and asked that my beads be revealed so they could see my face.
For those of you who are curious, the reason I wear these beads is so that I can use them in a story. He declared, “I want to be able to push the boundaries of democracy.”
The celebrated writer continued by recalling an incident in which he was rescued from an attack by a call from an unidentified number.
“You see, when I got that call from that anonymous caller, he told me, ‘Do not drive home. Do not use your car.'” In response, I decided to do as I was told, and the following morning, the bad guys attacked and hurt a man who was driving a car similar to mine. “You’re not going to have a normal social life when you decide to do what I do,” he said.
