The two teams are at the top of NPFL log table, Akwa United is on the first place while Kano Pillars are on the second place. The difference in points between the two teams is one.
On a goalless match, on the second half, Kano Pillars fans encroach pitch to interrupt the game. The angry fans broke through the wire fence and started beating players. Now the match has been suspended and a postponed date will be announced. Many are embarrassed by the actions from the fans
