Around 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, the occurrence took place.

The deceased, a military man in his late 30s, was shot and killed after a dispute with the defendant, Benlord Ababio, according to a police statement.

The soldier had come to the region to discuss a continuing land issue with two other colleagues.

According to preliminary investigations, the soldiers—Lance Corporal Omar, Ametus Mathew, and Danso Michael—were responding to a report regarding someone who was working on property that Lance Corporal Omar owned. When the officers got there, they told the workers to halt before filing a complaint with the Millennium City District Police Command.

But when they got back there, Millennium City’s Gyasehene, Benlord Ababio, accosted them and said the policemen shouldn’t have gone to the police headquarters with another complaint.

After being taken to the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa, the injured cop was declared dead despite medical intervention. The other two cops managed to get away safely.
