Arsenal Midfielder Thomas Partey Determined to Make Impact After Injury Setbacks

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey recently reflected on his injury challenges this season. The Ghanaian international was sidelined for several months due to a hamstring injury, which greatly impacted his playing time.

Partey, a key player for both Arsenal and the Ghana national team, had a frustrating period, featuring in only six Premier League matches for Arsenal this season, two of which were as a substitute following his injury.

His absence was keenly felt, leading him to miss crucial games for both club and country, including the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

After being sidelined for the Africa Cup of Nations, Partey made his comeback in Arsenal’s 6-0 victory over Sheffield United, playing for 25 minutes, and later appearing as a late substitute against Brentford.

He has remained at London Colney during this month’s international break to focus on improving his fitness and is now poised to play a significant role in the remainder of the season.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal currently sit at the top of the table after 28 games, level on points with Liverpool. They face a crucial match against Manchester City this weekend, aware that a loss could see them drop to third place.

Arsenal found themselves in a similar position last season but faltered in the final stages, partly due to an injury to William Saliba and a series of poor results.

Despite leading the table, both supercomputers and pundits continue to favor Manchester City to retain their title. However, Partey has declared that he is “prepared to give everything” to help Arsenal secure the championship.

“It’s been tough for me, being injured for a long time, but now I am ready to give everything I can to the team. Anything I can add to our level, I will do. I worked hard during my rehab to be able to come back to the level I need to be at. Now I want to get back with the team.”

As Arsenal prepares for upcoming challenges, Partey’s determination to have a significant impact bodes well for the team’s prospects in the remainder of the season.

With Arsenal currently sitting atop the Premier League table after 28 matches, level on points with Liverpool, Partey’s imminent return to full fitness provides Mikel Arteta’s squad with added depth as they prepare for a crucial encounter against Manchester City this weekend.
