BET Hip Hop Awards 2022: Benjamin EPPS beats Black Sherif, wins ‘Best International Flow’ award

The buzzing Ghanaian rap sensation, Black Sherif who is born with his legal name Mohammed Ismail Sharrif got his first nomination in the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards for the category ‘Best International Flow’ but lost to France-born rapper, Benjamin EPPS.

Benjamin EPPS was crowned the winner of the category after beating the likes of Sherif, and other seven contestants who shared the same category with him.

The BET Hip Hop Awards are an annual awards show, airing on BET, showcasing hip hop performers, producers, and music video directors. The awards ceremony began in 2006.

The BET Hip-Hop Awards 2022 ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 4, live from the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA, hosted by Grammy®-nominated recording artist, actor, and entrepreneur, Fat Joe, .

Becoming the award-winner for the Best International Flow category, Benjamin EPPS became victorious after battling with the likes of Black Sherif (Ghana), Blxckie (South Africa), Central Cee (UK), Haviah Mighty (Canada), Knucks (UK), Le Juiice (France), Nadia Nakai (Zimbabwe), Tasha & Tracie (Brazil).

Reating to the news of his victory, Epps took to his official Instagram account where he shared a video clip confirming his win and also added that ‘it was a dream’ come through for him.

Established in 2019, the Best International Flow category was first won by Ghana and Africa’s best and most decorated rapper, Sarkodie.
