A man in his mid-30s has reportedly been beaten to death in Kumasi, Ghana, after attempting to steal a Grand Bird bus.
The incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Asafo in the Ashanti Regional capital.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver’s assistant of the bus noticed the theft and pursued the suspect in a tricycle, aided by members of the public. The suspect, who was driving the stolen bus, eventually decided to abandon it while still in motion, causing damage to a nearby car.

The mob caught up with the thief and subjected him to severe beatings. Unfortunately, the beating proved too much for the man, and he passed away as a result of the mob’s actions.
His body has since been taken to a morgue in Asokwa for preservation and further investigation by the police.
