Meanwhile, Arsenal and Manchester City have reason to be pleased with their draws. Arsenal is set to take on Sevilla, PSV, Lens.

Manchester City will face RB Leipzig, Red Star Belgrade, and Young Boys in what appears to be favorable matchups for both teams.

Real Madrid, who have clinched the title 14 times, are slated to face Napoli, Braga, and Union Berlin in their group, while Barcelona’s group includes Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Antwerp.

The group stage runs from September through December, and UEFA is expected to confirm the complete fixture schedule and kickoff times no later than Saturday morning.

How Champions League group stage operate

In each group, teams compete against one another twice, once at home and once away, and the top two teams proceed to the round of 16.

Teams that finish in third place in their respective groups move on to the Europa League knockout round play-offs.

There, they’ll face the runners-up from the Europa League groups, vying for a spot in the last 16 of the Europa League competition.
