Renowned Nigerian Musician, DBanj finally breaks silence following his release from the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC).

The musician was arrested on Tuesday, December 6, and was imprisoned for three days.

He went before the panel to answer questions concerning his alleged role in the fraudulent transferring of funds intended for the N-Power project, a Nigerian government empowerment initiative started in 2016 to combat youth unemployment and achieve social development.

The N-Power is a scheme established by President Muhammadu Buhari on June 8, 2016, to address youth unemployment and empowerment, and help increase social development in the country.

Well, D’banj after spending three days in Detainment got released on Friday on self-recognition, after the ICPC found nothing incriminating on him.

Following his release, D’banj declared on his Instagram page that he had no involvement with fraud and that he was released on self-recognition after the ICPC discovered nothing incriminating on him.

He wrote;

“Global thank you to the world. I was invited on an ongoing investigation in ICPC.

“I have assisted the commission with all I know and I am confident in their capacity to unravel the truth. I have no business with fraud, all I do is chop life.

“I was released on self-recognition because nothing was seen or found on me. God bless you all my people.”

Pelumi Olajengbesi, the singer’s attorney, also verified his release, saying he was released on self-recognition but did not indicate whether he was on administrative bond..

He said;

“Nothing incriminating was found on him. He was released on self-recognition. Right now, we expect the ICPC to give a letter of clearance to Dbanj because, as we have always said, he is innocent of the charges brought against him”

The ICPC had released a statement earlier to clear the air that the singer was not under arrest and was only invited for questioning.
