Wendy Shay, a Ghanaian singer, has been open about the difficulties she had when first entering the music industry. These difficulties included being threatened with death and losing out on opportunities because of negative feedback on social media.
In a March 11, 2024, interview with Hitz FM, Wendy Shay revealed she was subjected to a great deal of hate and criticism from those who bullied her online using fictitious profiles.
There were some that she claimed were made specifically to bother her, and she was unable to locate or track any of them.

“When I first started doing music, I got a lot of criticism. When I first started in the profession, I received death threats and other things on social media. Not even can you locate them. After following several of the accounts, we discovered that the majority of them were made specifically to harass me, the woman added.
Wendy Shay disclosed that as a result of the circumstances, she ceased answering messages on social media.
Because she was not checking her comments because of the reaction, she said that this led her to miss a message from music producer Trilla who wanted to include her.

“Trilla sent me a message, and since it was new at the time, they wanted to add me, but I didn’t see it. We therefore made the decision that I would grant my team members access to my account as well,” she stated.
She declared that she was focused on her music and her followers and that she was not deterred by the haters.
She expressed her gratitude for the love and support she has received from her devoted fans and revealed that she was working on some amazing new projects.
