The Premier League Hall of Fame has recognised Ashley Cole, a former Gunner, as its newest member.
As the 22nd player to be featured, our former left-back and member of our storied Invincibles squad has been awarded the accolade by the division after winning the league title three times.
Ashley came through our system, and on the last day of the 1999–00 season, he made his Premier League debut after making his first-team debut back in November of 1999.

He played 385 games in the tournament, 156 of which were in our colors, starting with that one. As a member of the Arsenal team that won the league title in 2001–02 as part of a domestic double, he was involved in 32 of the 38 games that the team won in the league two seasons later.
After leaving for Chelsea in 2006, he went on to play for Derby County, Roma, LA Galaxy, and finally won another league championship in 2009–2010. Over a 13-year period, he also made 107 appearances for England.
He declared, “I’m honored to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.” Receiving recognition at the conclusion of your career is both humbling and rewarding.
“As a lifelong Arsenal supporter, I was fulfilling my childhood ambition of donning the jersey and participating in first team matches. playing at one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world, Highbury, in front of incredible supporters who were seated so close to the pitch.
“It was definitely special to win my first Premier League title.” After a demanding 38-game season, it is incredible to raise the trophy in front of my friends and family and celebrate with your teammates.
That’s a difficult emotion to describe. I only known love for Arsenal Football Club as a child.
In the Hall of Fame, Ashley is the ninth former member of the Arsenal team. In its inaugural year, Patrick Vieira and Ian Wright were admitted, then twelve months later, Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.
