Following over 50 years of marriage, Alhaji Asuma Banda’s first wife, Cassandra Banda, is rumored to have filed for divorce.

According to court documents, Mrs. Banda is requesting the annulment of their marriage with a settlement, according to a report by mynewsgh.com.

She argues in the court documents that she deserves to receive 60% of Banda’s estate, citing the assistance she provided to the now-ill billionaire beginning with their initial meeting in London.

Cassandra met and wed Asuma Banda in London when she was 41 years old, but according to the Mynewsgh.com piece, she claims that the marriage “has now reached a level of irreconcilable differences following years of alleged philandering by her spouse which she generally ignored.”

Alhaji Asuma Banda has recently been in the news because social media users released videos of a custody battle that took place near his hospital bed at the 37 Military Hospital.

His two sisters then petitioned the National Chief Imam, former president John Mahama, and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to become involved in the custody disputes.

Meanwhile, Banda’s second wife, Edwina Baaba Coussey Banda, whom he wed in 1991, has been granted legal custody and responsibility for Banda.

The former CEO of Anktrak Air turned 89 this year, and by June of the following year, he will be 90 years old.
