Ghanaian singer Jackline Acheampong, better known as Gyakie, posted a throwback image of herself from her days in elementary school at Mizpah International School on Instagram.
She was in Class 3 at Mizpah when the photo was taken. Gyakie reminisced about the day the picture was shot on her Instagram Story, remembering how happy she had been to get an award at school.
She recalled with fondness how her mother had looked forward to the occasion, thinking it was Mizpah School’s annual Awards Giving Day.

Gyakie clarified that her look in the picture was reserved because, despite the importance of the occasion, all she could think about was having fun with her pals.
Gyakie’s mother, Mrs. Miriam Acheampong, looked proudly at her daughter as she accepted the medal in the photo. Mrs. Acheampong is the wife of well-known Ghanaian singer Nana Acheampong.
Gyakie’s former classmates were overcome with nostalgia after seeing the message, and many of them began to remember that special day.
Some even related stories about their time in school with Gyakie, and others couldn’t resist making remarks on Mrs. Acheampong’s unusual footwear selection in the picture.
