In a devastating turn of events, a health assistant identified only as Victoria took her own life inside a medical center in the Surulere area of Lagos state on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
The Surulere Police Division received a report from the Medical Director of the health center, revealing that Victoria was not present at her duty post on that fateful day.
According to the medical director, after numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact Victoria, her phone was found ringing inside a room within the hospital premises.

It was later discovered that she had locked the door from the inside. The medical director called in a carpenter to force open the door, revealing the lifeless body of Victoria on the bed.
Upon the arrival of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at the scene, various types of drugs, injections, and syringes were discovered around the deceased.

Investigators believe that Victoria used these substances to end her life, as there were no visible signs of injury on her body.
