During an interview with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime TV, Darlington revealed that he faced severe spiritual attacks from former friends turned rivals, leaving him feeling “buried spiritually.”

Born with his legal name Emmanuel Kweku Owusu Darlington, the “Sika Kankan” hitmaker shared that these attacks resulted from a conflict with two individuals he once considered friends.

According to the rapper, what began as a simple misunderstanding escalated beyond his control. “I had a misunderstanding with someone, but I didn’t take it seriously,” Darlington stated. “It shouldn’t have gone that far. It was just between two friends, a male and a female.”

The situation quickly deteriorated, leading to a series of spiritual confrontations. “I was down for the whole year, last year. It was so bad for me. I had friends who turned into enemies,” he explained. “It escalated to the point of involving juju and all that. It was very crazy, so you didn’t hear much from me during that time.”

The spiritual attacks harmed not only his profession, but also his physical health. Darlington recalled how he spent much of the year confined to his house, dealing with serious health concerns that eluded medical explanation.

“It even affected my skin; I couldn’t go out,” he revealed. “The whole idea was to keep me inside because I’m dangerous when I’m outside, when I’m making music and all that.” he revealed.

At his lowest point, Darlington felt as though he was “buried with only [his] head outside,” unable to eat and causing his mother immense worry. His battle included visits to multiple hospitals and consultations with herbal practitioners, but no treatment seemed effective.

After exploring all medical options, Darlington reached a turning point moment in his struggle. He joined a Christian group in the Atwea Mountains, where he eventually received the spiritual solace he sought. “It wasn’t a medical issue; it was spiritual,” Darlington affirmed. “It started with my eyes. I went to the clinic, and they did all they could, but they couldn’t find the cause.”

Only in the Atwea Mountains did his congregation discover the full depth of his ailment. “After that, we had to clear all these things before I could start taking the prescribed medicine,” he added.
