A horrifying and tragic event unfolded in Easley, South Carolina, when a mother allegedly murdered her newborn baby just moments after giving birth.
T. Ngo, 31, is accused of stabbing her seconds-old infant to death with a metal letter opener before placing the baby’s body in a trash bag, according to authorities.
The shocking incident occurred on March 7, when Ngo gave birth to a baby boy in her apartment. After delivering the child, it is alleged that Ngo used a metal letter opener to cut the umbilical cord before repeatedly stabbing the baby. The child, who had just entered the world, tragically died from the injuries.
“This is one of the most gruesome cases I’ve encountered in over two and a half decades of law enforcement,” Easley Police Chief Brandon Liner said in a press conference.
“It’s heartbreaking and devastating, and we will ensure that this baby gets the justice it deserves.”
Ngo’s boyfriend reportedly called authorities, though it remains unclear if he was present when the crime occurred.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the baby’s body in a trash bag outside of the room. The infant was declared dead at the scene.
After the brutal attack, Ngo was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but upon her release, she was arrested and charged with homicide by child abuse. She has been denied bail.
“This baby didn’t have a chance at life,” Chief Liner added. “It’s incredibly sad, but we will make sure justice is served.”
The community has been left stunned and shaken by the tragic and unimaginable nature of the crime.
Authorities are continuing their investigation, while the focus remains on ensuring justice for the innocent child who lost his life far too soon.
