Veteran Nigerian actress Nse Ikpe-Etim speaks more on how she felt after discovering that there is no way she is ever going to mother children.

The thespian who is 47 years, born on October 21, 1974, in Lagos, Nigeria came into prominence in 2008 for her movie role in Reloaded, also got nominated for the Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 5th and 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards for her role in Reloaded and Mr. and Mrs., respectively.

Why Cant She Mother Children?

It would be recalled that some years back in 2019, the actress disclosed during an interview with Nse tagged as ‘Conversation with Nse’, that she won’t be able to have her own children, she had her womb removed because of what she was going through to live a normal life, it was due to a medical condition that threatened her life.

Nse Ikpe-Etim opens up on how she felt after discovering she cannot bear children

The actress after many years of removing her womb has finally opened up on how she felt the very moment she got to know that she will not be able to become a mother to share the dreams of many women out there.

According to the actress, she felt bad but she never felt anything like a shame for not being able to bear a child but rather she felt inadequate.

She made this known via a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo

According to her, where she is from there is nothing like shame because of how she was brought up and that they live life fully.

“I didn’t feel shame, but inadequacy, I felt inadequate as a woman because everytime it was mentioned I would remember. So that’s what it was.

“Shame, I’m not ashamed. The least that I would be but I’m thankful for how I was brought up, we don’t tie shame to ourselves. We live through life fully and that’s how it is.

“My husband had stood by me through all of this because that’s the way it’s supposed to be when people say oh we need to really be thankful for. What really happened?? This is us, you walk in there as it’s a partnership, what comes good, bad, ugly, it’s us just let it be.” she said.

When asked whether she will love the idea of adoption, said she and her husband are now dogged parents, and that they are okay

“You never say never, but right now, my husband and I are just dog parents. People should be allowed to live, my husband and I are okay right now.” she added.
