Predicted England XI vs Austria: Confirmed team news, injury list ahead of Euro 2020

Gareth Southgate begins his preparations for Euro 2020 tournament with a friendly against Austria on Wednesday night.

Gareth Southgate shortlisted his initial 33-man squad to 26, with six players – Jesse Lingard, Ollie Watkins, James Ward-Prowse, Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White and Ben Godfrey dropped while Mason Greenwood missed out due to injury.

It is believed that Gareth Southgate’s may not have his first-choice XI for the tournament available due to injury of of some key players.

Tonight friendly will see Gareth Southgate rest most of his players due to involvement in Europa League and Champions League final last week.

There would be an experimental lineup from Southgate against Austria, while Lingard is likely to start despite missing out on the Euros squad.

Pickford; Stones, Coady, Mings; Alexander-Arnold, Bellingham, Rice, Saka; Lingard, Kane, Foden

Injury list: Maguire (ankle)

Doubt: Henderson (fitness), Grealish (fitness), Sancho

The likes of Jack Grealish and Jordan Henderson are expected to come off the bench as they build their fitness due to long injury layoffs.

Second half of the game will see players likely to be starters of the tournament coming off the bench as substitutes.
