Renowned Canadian rapper and singer, Drake, has made a surprising announcement about taking a break from the music industry to focus on his health.

This news came shortly after the release of his highly-anticipated album, ‘For All The Dogs,’ which came out on October 6th, 2023. It’s his ninth studio album.

Drake shared this unexpected news during an episode of the SiriusXM series called ‘Table for One.’ He mentioned that he might not make music or be in the music scene for about a year or maybe longer.

He didn’t go into detail about his health issues but promised to update everyone later.

In his own words, Drake said, “I probably won’t make music for a little bit.I’m going to be real with you. I need to focus on my health, first and foremost, and I’ll talk about that soon enough.

“Nothing crazy… I want people to be healthy in life, and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach. I’m just saying what it is.

“So, I need to focus on my health, and I need to get right, and I’m going to that. I have a lot of other things that I would love to focus on.

“So, I’m going to lock the door in the studio for a little bit. I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe a year or so, maybe a little longer.”

Drake’s latest album consists of 23 songs and includes collaborations with rappers and singers including Teezo Touchdown, 21 Savage, J. Cole, Yeat, SZA, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Chief Keef, Bad Bunny, Sexyy Red & Lil Yachty. Interestingly, his young son, Adonis, even makes an appearance and raps on one of the tracks called ‘Daylight.’

What’s heartwarming is that Drake used a drawing by his son as the cover for ‘For All The Dogs,’ and Adonis plays a significant role in the video for the song ‘8am In Charlotte,’ which was released with the album. This highlights their close father-son bond.
