Al Ittihad is said to have made a staggering world-record bid in their relentless pursuit of Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah.

Last week, the Saudi Pro League champions had their initial offer of up to £150 million rejected by Liverpool for the 31-year-old star.

Reportedly, as per The Sun, a fresh proposal of £175 million was submitted on Monday night, with additional performance-based incentives potentially elevating the total deal value to an astonishing £215 million.

This potential transfer fee would surpass the £198 million that Paris Saint-Germain paid Barcelona in 2017 to secure Neymar’s services, establishing a new benchmark in football transfers.

Al Ittihad’s top executives are presently in England, working diligently to secure a deal before the transfer deadline in the Gulf nation, set for Thursday.

Despite the keen interest from Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Salah has expressed his desire to remain with Liverpool, according to a statement from a teammate.

Remarkably, it is rumored that Salah is poised to become one of the highest-paid athletes in history, with a staggering weekly salary offer of £2.4 million.

Furthermore, he stands to earn £55,000 for every victory his team achieves, along with a substantial percentage of the revenue generated from shirt sales.

In an even more enticing proposition, the Egyptian international has been extended ambassadorial roles by at least three major Saudi companies, promising him nearly £20 million in additional incentives throughout the duration of his contract.

This arrangement, as reported by the news outlet, would amount to £18 million, with each company offering him a generous £6 million.

With two years remaining on his contract at Anfield, there are ongoing discussions among Liverpool executives regarding the possibility of selling the player.

In the event that Al Ittihad’s current pursuit does not yield results this week, they are prepared to launch a fresh bid to secure his services in the upcoming year.

Should Salah complete the move, he would reunite with former Liverpool teammate Fabinho at the King Abdullah Sports City, following the Brazilian’s transfer last month.

Among the club’s current roster are notable names such as Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and former Celtic forward Jota.

In the current Premier League season, Salah has made appearances in all four opening games for the Reds, contributing with two goals and two assists.
