Romelu Lukaku is on Chelsea’s radar as Haaland alternative

The Inter Milan striker has previously revealed his feelings on a potential return to the Premier League amid fresh rumours linking him with a move back to Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku is on Chelsea’s striker shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to The Daily Telegraph, 27-year-old Lukaku is an alternative option at Stamford Bridge should Haaland be deemed unavailable, with the club prepared to spend a significant amount of their transfer budget on a centre-forward.

Lukaku joined Chelsea as an 18-year-old in 2011 but played just 15 times for the club before joining Everton.

The Belgium international established himself as one of the Premier League’s best forwards on Merseyside before joining Manchester United in a £75m deal in 2017.

Lukaku scored 27 goals during his first season at the club but managed just 12 in the following campaign with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replacing Jose Mourinho midway through the 2018-19 season.

A monstrous €180million (£150m) bid for Haaland will be enough to tempt the Bundesliga outfit into selling the 20-year-old, as reported by ESPN FC.

Thomas Tuchel want Lukaku as the main alternative if a deal for Haaland can not be agreed.

But would the 27-year-old even consider a return to the Premier League following spells with Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion, Everton and Manchester United?
