A Russian high court on has on Tuesday, November 1st, fined Wikipedia owner Wikimedia Foundation 2 million rubles (which is equivalent to $32,600) over articles relating to the Ukraine war.
According to Wikimedia’s Stanislav Kozlovsky, the fine was issued for failing to remove the entries that Russia had requested be deleted. The foundation would appeal, he claimed.
The two papers, which were written in Russian, were titled “Evaluations of Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine” and “Non-violent resistance of Ukraine’s civilian population in the course of Russia’s invasion”
