A GH₵150 million budget has been made available by the government for a comprehensive pothole-patching programme.

The government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure and providing citizens with safer and more effective transit is demonstrated by this large expenditure.

Drivers have long been concerned about potholes because they can be uncomfortable, damage vehicles, and present safety risks. By mending and restoring road surfaces, the GH150 million fund seeks to systematically address this issue and raise the general standard of the nation’s road system.

The government has allocated GH₵150 million to tackle the nationwide pothole problem

The idea is timely given that the public has been calling for immediate action to address the poor condition of the roads. Major highways, city streets, and important transit routes will be given priority when the allotted monies are carefully applied to locations that have been identified as being prone to potholes.

In light of the favourable conditions of the dry season, the Department of Urban roadways will begin routine pothole patching on important roadways, as per an official statement from the Ministry.

“The amount is part of the first quarter releases from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Roads and Highways,” the statement read

The public was urged to cooperate with the Ministry of Roads and Highways in its endeavours to improve the nation’s road network, and the Ministry informed the public that it is committed to addressing any issues pertaining to the road network nationwide.
