A press release has been issued in response to the arrest of Madam Shalimar Abbiusi, who recently identified herself as the spokesperson for The New Force, an organization purporting to be fighting for the liberation of Ghanaians from the oppression of our dishonest politicians.
The New Force demanded Ms. Abbiusi’s immediate release in the press release and vehemently denounced the Ghana Police Service’s actions.
The New Force claims that Ms. Shalimar’s property was illegally searched and that she was refused access to legal counsel.

Ms. Abbiusi’s detention, according to the New Force, is unlawful and a violation of her human rights.
The Ghana Immigration Service facilitated and granted Ms. Abbiusi’s residency permit more than three years ago.
Now that one of the documents she turned in could not be verified, the authorities demand that she be detained in order to carry out further investigations into the New Force.
The New Force contends that these are merely pretexts to keep Ms. Abbiusi detained and that the true goal of her confinement is to stifle a political rival.
