Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has extended this contract with Chelsea footfall club for another one year which will expire until the end of 2022/23 season.
The 37-year-old Brazilian professional footballer, Thiago Emiliano da Silva first joined Chelsea in the summer of 2020 under former manager, Frank Lampard on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, and he and his family have become fans’ favourite at Stamford Bridge.
He has made 22 appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s side this season, scoring two goals and assisting two more. But in total, he has made a total of 56 appearances for the club since he joined.

Thiago Silva extends Chelsea contract
It was confirmed on Monday, January 3rd, 2022, that Thiago has extended his stay at the club for another year following an official post published by the club’s official website.
Thiago Silva’s new deal will run until the conclusion of the 2022/23 season, midway through which he will also be hoping to represent Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar having remained a regular for the Selecao in qualifying.
Marina Granovskaia, who is the director for Chelsea speaking following the news of Thiago Silva Extending his contract for another year said that the defender’s leadership and performances have been and remain very vital to the squad and that the club is very pleased he has decided to extend his stay for another year.
‘Thiago Silva’s experience, leadership and performances have been and remain very important to this squad, so we are hugely pleased to extend his contract by another year.
‘We look forward to his continued influence as we seek honours this season and next, and more of the qualities that have led to him having such a big impact for us on and off the pitch.’ Marina Granovskaia said.
Thiago Emiliano da Silva who is much excited to extend his contract with the blues said he is very much happy to stay with this great club (CHELSEA) for another season.
he has however extended his gratitude to the club which he refers to as a family for him, and also to Marina and to Mr Abramovich for the opportunity and pledged to give in his all for the club and for the fans who have always been on his side since he arrived back in 2020.
