Donald Trump has announced that he will nominate Chris Wright, a prominent oil and gas executive, as his pick for Secretary of Energy.
Wright, the CEO of Liberty Energy, an oilfield services firm based in Denver, is a staunch supporter of fossil fuel production and is expected to align closely with Trump’s energy policies, which prioritize increasing oil and gas output.
Wright’s appointment is seen as a clear signal that the Trump administration plans to double down on traditional energy sources despite ongoing global concerns about climate change.

Wright, however, is expected to advocate for increased fossil fuel extraction, continuing Trump’s focus on maximizing domestic oil and gas production.
