Tupac Shakur, the acclaimed rap artist and film star, is slated to be honored with the 2,758th star on the illustrious Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7, at 10:30 a.m. PT, taking place at the distinguished address of 6212 Hollywood Boulevard. Recognized in the category of Recording, Shakur’s contribution to the music industry will be immortalized through this prestigious accolade.

The administration of the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame falls under the auspices of the esteemed Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, acting on behalf of the vibrant city of Los Angeles.

For decades, this hallowed ground has been the esteemed venue for globally renowned star ceremonies, captivating the hearts of millions of visitors hailing from both near and far since its inception in 1960.

Emerging onto the rap scene in 1991, Tupac captured the attention of audiences with his groundbreaking debut album, “2Pacalypse Now.” Regaled for his notable tracks such as “Hit ‘Em Up,” “California Love,” and “All Eyez on Me,” the influential artist’s untimely demise occurred on September 13, 1996, when he tragically succumbed to four gunshot wounds inflicted upon him in Las Vegas.

Mere 25 years old at the time, Tupac Shakur left an indelible mark on the music industry, making an enduring impact that resonates to this day.

oining emcee Big Boy for the star unveiling will be celebrated filmmaker Allen Hughes, director of the acclaimed docuseries “Dear Mama: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur” that is now streaming on F/X and Hulu. Shakur’s sister Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur will accept the star on behalf of the family. Hughes directed the recently released docuseries, “Dear Mama, a deeply personal account of mother and son, Afeni and Tupac Shakur, and a definitive portrait of a global superstar and the woman who shaped him. A testament to the lasting cultural impact of Tupac Shakur, “Dear Mama” set a new ratings high for the Disney-owned FX when it premiered in May 2023 as the most watched unscripted series debut in cross-platform viewers across FX and Hulu.
